Cookie Policy
This page explains what cookies are, which cookies Planitar Press uses, why it uses them, and how you may manage your preferences at any time.
What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device — computer, handheld device, or mobile phone — when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites function correctly, operate more efficiently, and to provide information to the owners of the site.
Cookies do not contain executable code and cannot carry viruses or install software on your device. They are passive files that can only be read by the server that set them. Cookies set by Planitar Press are limited to the purposes described below.
Some cookies are set by Planitar Press directly. Others are set by third-party services embedded within the publication, such as analytics and font-delivery providers. Third-party cookies are subject to the respective privacy and cookie policies of those providers.
Categories of Cookies Used
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the basic functioning of the publication. They enable navigation between pages, remember your cookie consent preference, and ensure that the site loads correctly. These cookies cannot be disabled through the Cookie Settings panel, as disabling them would prevent the site from operating.
Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies help Planitar Press understand how readers engage with the publication — which articles are read, how long readers stay on the page, and from which general geographic region traffic originates. All data collected through analytics cookies is anonymised before storage. No individual reader is identified.
These cookies are only set with your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time using the Cookie Settings option in the footer.
Functional Cookies
Functional cookies remember choices you make on the publication — such as the display settings you have selected — and provide a more personalised reading experience. These cookies do not track your activity across other websites and are only used within the Planitar Press publication.
Third-Party Cookies and Services
Planitar Press embeds or references the following third-party services, each of which may set cookies or access your device as part of their normal functioning:
- Google Analytics — used in anonymised form to understand readership patterns. Google Analytics data is configured with IP anonymisation enabled. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Google Fonts / Fontshare — the publication loads typefaces from Google Fonts and the Fontshare service. These services may store a cookie or log your IP address to serve the font files. Their privacy policies are available through their respective websites.
- Google Maps — the Contact page embeds a Google Maps iframe to display the publication's address. Google Maps may set cookies and log your IP address if you interact with the map. Google's privacy policy governs this processing.
Planitar Press has no control over the cookies set by third-party services. Choosing to reject analytics cookies through the Cookie Settings panel will prevent analytics cookies from being set; however, cookies set by Google Maps or font providers as a result of their technical functioning are governed by those providers.
How to Manage Cookie Preferences
You may change your cookie preferences at any time using one of the following methods:
Cookie Settings Panel
The Cookie Settings link appears in the footer of every page. Clicking it reopens the consent panel, where you may accept all cookies, accept analytics cookies only, or restrict cookies to functional-only functioning.
Browser-Level Controls
All modern browsers allow you to control cookies through the browser settings. You may block all cookies, accept only first-party cookies, or delete existing cookies. Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent certain parts of the publication from functioning correctly.
Guidance for common browsers:
- Google Chrome — Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox — Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Safari — Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge — Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Cookies and site data
Google Analytics Opt-Out
Google provides a browser add-on that prevents Google Analytics from gathering data about your visits to any website. It is available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Changes to This Cookie Policy
This cookie policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies used by this publication, changes in applicable law, or updates to third-party services. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
If the changes are material, a notice will appear on the homepage for a period of at least 14 days following the update. Continued use of the publication after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
